Errol Tan, Vectio UK Director will be a guest speaker in CIHT Qatar webinar

Next Thursday, October 20th, the webinar “Moving to Zero-Emissions Public Transport” will take place, organized by CIHT Qatar, in which Errol Tan, director of Vectio UK, accompanied by Naeem Farooqi, director of Sustainable Transport and Asset Management Solutions of Wood Plc, will speak about sustainable mobility, and about the future projections that exist for public transport after COVID-19.

“The global onset of COVID-19 has drastically affected all of us — through the fabric of our daily lives, and also through its reverberations in economic systems on local and global scales. Green, innovative, agile and scalable solutions are being demanded of our governments, our employers and our societies. One of the sectors that has been most affected by the global pandemic is public transportation –this is experienced first-hand through the suspension of Doha Metro and public bus operations during the initial phases of the pandemic. On the flip side of the negative impacts associated with the shutdown of our transport systems, there have also been drastic reductions of CO2 emissions and fossil fuel pollution, provoking the thought: How do we build a healthier, more economically inclusive global society while also keeping carbon emissions in decline? This presentation is to discuss one of the principal and viable pathways to achieving this, through the shift towards electrified, zero-emissions public transport systems.”
