#INWED18: Raising the Bar

Vectio organizes the International Women in Engineering Day, under the motto: Raising the bar.

On June 22, Vectio hosted the celebration of International Women in Engineering Day (#INWED18) in Madrid, a global awareness-raising event to highlight the role of women in a sector traditionally dominated by men.

The day of talks that began at 13.00 pm consisted of a Think Tank with the most representative women of the sector: Lola Ortiz, Dean of the College of Roads of Madrid, Ana Rosa Llorente Botrán, Head of the urban planning department of the City of Madrid, Marisol Santos and Cristina Núñez Lagos from the Planning team of the Madrid City Council and Raquel Goyanes from one of the most important engineering consultancies worldwide: Arup.

The approach of # INWED18 was much more practical than in 2017, the speakers explained what their work consists of on a daily basis, even presenting works done as it was the case of the Gran Vía project by representatives of the City Council of Madrid.
