Vectio will project the sustainable mobility of Cabrales

In 2024, more than 423,000 visitors accessed the Picos de Europa National Park (the third most visited in Spain) through the municipality of Cabrales. This Asturian municipality, famous for its cheese and mountains, has only 1,908 residents (INE, 2024) and its infrastructure is overcrowded during the summer season. Last year a special public transport service was in operation from June 1 to October 13 between the main population center (Arenas de Cabrales) and the points of greatest tourist interest such as the Cares Route, the Bulnes funicular railway and the towns of Sotres, Tielve or Pandébano. Now the City Council of Cabrales has projected a Sustainable Mobility Plan and has chosen Vectio | Traffic & transport planning to be the mobility consultant to carry it out.
