Vectio as part of a consortium led by ALMEC, has been commissioned by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to help strengthen Belgrade’s public transport system.
Vectio will support the consortium formed by ALMEC – OCG – NIPPON KOEI to provide consultancy services to the City of Belgrade’s Secretariat for Public Transport (SfPT), over a three-year period, to help strengthen the institutional capacity for policy-setting, strategic planning as well as operations monitoring of the integrated urban public transport system comprising buses, trolleybuses, trams (LRT) and heavy rail.
For the next three years (2021-2023), Vectio and our partners will be supporting the project beneficiary – the City of Belgrade, Secretariat for Public Transport (SfPT)– by undertaking various activities:
- Activity 1: Capacity building to support SfPT’s public transport strategic and operational planning functions;
- Activity 2: Enhancement of SfPT’s capacity to monitor operators’ performance
- Activity 3: Improvement of fare collection rate and financial sustainability of the heavily-subsidised public transport system;
Vectio’s experts are responsible for leading the analysis of public transport operations across all modalities, improving SfPT’s capacity for planning and operations of the integrated public transport network, and also the transport demand forecasting activities to support future improvements and changes to the entire public transport network.
