The assessment to improve industrial signage is a technical analysis examining the existing signage in the area studied on the basis of an inventory, by ranking roads, diagnosing their location and directionality, detecting existing conflict points and assessing the different routes to propose improvement actions, before future investment.
Alcalá de Henares is one of the main municipalities in the Henares Corridor, which, due to its location, has become a strategic area both nationally and internationally.
The City Council of Alcalá de Henares commissioned Vectio to conduct an inventory assessment and design the directional vertical signage for the industrial zones of its town.
The aim of this assessment was to optimise existing signage in order to provide effective guidance for traffic originating in and heading towards different commercial areas of the municipality.
In order to carry out this project, the different access routes to the industrial estates of Alcalá de Henares were made by using on-board cameras with ego-positioning, as the basic axis of this assessment was the collection and inventory of existing signs, location of each of the industrial zones in Alcalá de Henares and proposition of the design of the new signage in accordance with current regulations and coexisting with the current signage.
