In order to estimate the demand of travellers that there would be in the event of implementing the single ticket in the city of Oviedo, the stages of dispersion of these travellers in that city were characterised, calculating the capacity and demand of the urban bus lines, as well as the percentage of occupancy and characterisation of travellers (frequency and ticket).
The urban transport in Oviedo that is available to both the citizen and the visitor of the city can be summarised in two groups: CercanÃas network (Feve and RENFE) and bus (urban and interurban).
The aim of this project was to provide Consorcio de Transporte de Asturias with a transport assessment that would allow us to find out the flow of travellers arriving at transport stations in Oviedo and its possible intermodal effect, by joining together all modes of transport under the same season ticket.
The works carried out to conduct this assessment were as follows:
- Design, planning, compilation and analysis of surveys of revealed preference in the Oviedo’s four transport stations, and surveys of revealed preference for the characterisation of users in urban lines
- Manual ATC survey with video analysis of the different urban lines in Oviedo
- Allocation of future trips according to the transport modernisation methodology
- Analysis of capacity and frequency of service of Oviedo’s urban transport lines using the Transportation Capacity Manual methodology
