For the development of a new MAKRO Centre, Vectio was tasked with conducting a transport assessment for new access roads.
The objective was to provide the client with a transport assessment that would show the flow of traffic in the area where the new establishment is planned, estimate the mobility generated by the proposed action and diagnose whether it has ample capacity to cater for the roads, analysing the existing accesses and proposing modifications to them, so that the commercial area can be accessed optimally.
The works carried out to develop this assessment were as follows:
- Collection of existing data on traffic demand from surrounding roads;
- Installation of artificial vision cameras;
- Automated count with artificial vision software from footage taken on site;
- Assessment of allocation of future traffic rates;
- Analysis of the level of service of the surrounding roads;
- Assessment of the surrounding roundabout junctions.
- Route videos with geo-referencing on-board camera.
