The management of the Los Alcores Shopping Centre had several market studies that indicated that the current access roads from the A-92 road to the Shopping Centre were badly viewed by the customers, which resulted in a lower capture of potential customers.
For this reason, Los Alcores Shopping Centre commissioned Vectio to carry out a transport assessment that would let it find out the flow of traffic in the surrounding area, to diagnose the estimated level of exploitation of the connections in the area and to propose an improvement in the accessibility and circulation of those vehicles heading to the Los Alcores Shopping Centre.
One of the access roads to the Los Alcores Shopping Centre, specifically the access road from the A-92 motorway (towards Seville), is through a service road that is accessed several kilometres before the shopping Centre. For this reason, the aim of this assessment was to obtain the data needed to propose solutions that comprehensively improve the fluidity and level of service of the traffic rates in the area.
The works carried out for this assessment were as follows:
- Measuring traffic using traffic counts with radar technology and artificial vision cameras;
- Analysis and calculation of the level of service of the surrounding roads and connections
- Capacity assessment of the junctions of the area;
- Construction of a digital traffic model using analysis techniques;
- Proposals and recommendations for improvements to access and traffic management.
