Traffic assessment in the Mediterranean Motorway

Infrastructure & Engineering

The company needed a traffic study to analyse in depth a section of the A-7 Mediterranean Motorway.

The study evaluated the traffic flows currently present in the study area, diagnosed the current level of operation of the different infrastructures (motorway trunk roads, accesses/exits and junctions) and, finally, analysed the feasibility of the action proposal drawn up by the Technical Management of the client company.

The main objective of the study was to improve the operability of the section under study, which currently has insufficient capacity at some points. The critical points of the road were analysed and evaluated throughout the study, on the basis of which the different actions to improve traffic circulation conditions will be studied, not only at present but also in the horizon year of 2040.
