The company ArcelorMittal, with strong business activity in Asturias, brings together 8,000 workers in this region. These employees have company transport that allows them to travel from their homes to the various different production plants. ALSA is the company that provides the services from Gijón and Las Cuencas to the factories in Gijón and Avilés, and commissioned Vectio to carry out this assessment.
This project comes about in response to ALSA’s need to have a transport assessment that would allow them to find out the flow of travellers and analyse the capacity, demand and frequency of the business transport lines, in order to optimise the existing services.
